During the last year the Romantik Seehotel Ahlbecker Hof, to be found directly on the promenade, was extended for roundabout 10 million euro. Within the "Residenz Ahlbecker Hof" there are 21 luxurious suites respectively appartements. The traditional architecture of the region was interpreted in a modern way for the new building and its interior. The atmosphere is unostentious, personal and elegant. Spacious marble bathrooms, living rooms with solid wooden floors, comfortable sitting areas, electrical fireplaces and balconies as well as unique sleeping comfort thanks to high-quality slatted frames and special mattrasses create a well-being atmosphere. The new building is connected to the Romantik Seehotel Ahlbecker Hof (finalisation in November 2008) so that guests can make use of the whole infrastructure of the hotel.  

The winter garden restaurant "Suan Thai", meaning Thai garden, was newly opened as well. The colour red dominates the restaurant, which was designed by a Thai interior designer, the complete interior including 6.600 pieces of porcelain done in Thailand, shipped to Usedom and then build by local specialists.  

The lounge invites guests to have a drink. In the open kitchen Thai chefs will prepare Thai specialities in front of the guests in the evenings. Asian cuisine enthusiasts have the chance to even enjoy a German-Thai breakfast at the "Suan Thai". The restaurant is divided into various areas to cater for events and festivities.

The spacious wellness and Spa area, extended to approximately 1.000 square metres (finalisation end of November 2008), boasts an Asian atmosphere as well. Guests can relax in the Spa equipped with an indoor pool, various saunas, many rooms for special treatments, beauty cabins and a gym. On offer are classical face and body treatments as well as Ayurveda, massages and Asian relaxation programs.
